Spooloops is Ian James Newton, a contemporary visual artist whose work encompasses installation, sculpture, sound art and music. Also, he coordinates interventions, happenings, and interactive gatherings. Ian established and maintains the Zero to One space, a multi-disciplinary art venue in Kitchener, Ontario. Music making is his big distraction and the Spooloops project is dancey but with indy sensibilities. Other recent projects include co-production of Mossyrock,s OEthe Zero to One Sessions, and OECreak Speak0/00 a sound installation for the Open Ears Festival of Sound and New Music. A full length Spooloops recording is in the works for the upcoming year.
Ian lives half the year in Kitchener and the other half in his imagination.
